The 2012 Mayan Prophecies. The Conclusion.

The reason why I wrote another section on the 2012 Mayan Prophecies is because the topic of the Mayan Prophecies 2012 is hugely debated as to whether or not the Maya predict the end of the world for 2012.

The confusion lays in the Mayan foretelling, this is because some scientists believe that the end of the world was a misinterpretation of the Mayan calender and what the calender actually meant was a new beginning.

How could there be such speculation of the 2012 Mayan Prophecies?

The event that occurs on December 21st 2012, is considered the 2012 alignment, the winter solstice. At exactly that date a major galactic event will occur causing the earth and the sun to be completely in line with the centre of the Milky Way. This event only occurs every 25,800 years and is believed by the Maya that earth enters the cosmic womb. Here is where the speculation arises. The cosmic womb can either mean, the place of dead, rebirth and generation or transformation.

Now you can see where the debate begins, some argue that the Maya didn't mean the end of the world is going to occur on December 21st 2012, but rather a rebirth of earth or transformation into a new cycle. Since the calender is made of cycles, astrologers and scientists believe that the end of the calender means a new cycle will occur on the calender.

I like optimism, but the problem with this theory is the fact that the cosmic womb also means the place of dead. Astrologers have recognised that a black hole exists at the centre of the Milky Way and they believe this is what the Maya meant by us entering the cosmic womb. Besides the black hole engulfing earth and doing whatever a black hole does, (no one really knows what it can do, maybe a galactic portal?), some believe it will cause a 2012 pole shift. The pole shift, which has occurred before, will cause an increase in seasonality and weather patterns, causing extreme earthquakes and volcanoes to erupt.

This certainly wouldn't be any nice transformation. Thus this theory has raised serious doubt upon the main argument that the Maya predict a future of rebirth and the beginning of a new cycle.

What is the conclusion on the 2012 Mayan Prophecies?

There is no conclusion. Astrologers can't be certain of what will occur and whatever scripture the Mayan wrote about 2012 was destroyed by the Spanish when they invaded. One thing is for certain, the Maya have a remarkable tendency to be correct with future predictions such as the prediction of the Spanish arrival in which they predicted the exact date, March 5, 1519. If history holds true and the Maya predictions do come true we either perish or transform, or perhaps we will rebirth.
