Have you heard about the 2012 Movie?
I must tell you upfront; the fact that a 2012 movie is being developed is upsetting to me. I expect that it will totally ruin everything about 2012 because people will develop a Hollywood view with radical insights, which is usually far from reality, rather than checking into the potential events of the year that may be so critical to our existence and the world as we know it. Quite frankly, I don’t think that the year 2012 needs to be made a mockery of.
Have you seen the trailer for the movie 2012?
2012 Movie Trailer
Like most movies, the trailer does leave a lot of mystery and speculation about what the movie is actually about, but nonetheless, it appears to be about the
Doomsday of 2012
or the end of the world in which the official trailer site says that the governments of the world won’t prepare us for. There are references to the
Mayan Calendar.
The few versions of the movie trailers that I have seen show that the movie will include shots of sun storms, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and the “return of the shining ones who will save us all”, and of course, explorations of space. What really blows me away is the statement, “2012 find out the truth”.
The truth according to Hollywood is what inspires my thoughts of “Hollywood Mockery”. I totally expect the movie to have amazing special effects, various stories affecting the popular stars (like John Cusack and Amada Peet) that appear in the movie, and very, very short on scientific evidence just like any other movie about disaster.
In The Day After Tomorrow, Hollywood made a mockery of the theory of thermal haline circulation by dramatizing and over exaggerating the likely outcome. Now the theory has been pretty much hushed or dismissed which is not right. Nothing to the extent displayed by Hollywood could actually happen; however, there is evidence that global warming is occurring and the theory should not be dismissed.
