I know most of you already understand the 2012 Doomsday on the calendar and the complexity of it but when you really think about it, it seems to be a lot more significant than ever. Supposedly, the world is supposed to come to an end in December 2012 . If you break down what a calendar is presently, it is an indication into the future. Hypothetically, it shows you dates from the past and dates that are to come. Although these dates have no indication of future events some do predict an event that has happened already and is bound to happen again, i.e. Christmas Day or Halloween. The calendar also predicts various astronomical events, like the stages of the moon. This isn’t all that new…well I hope not, but the truth is these assumptions are all based on past assumptions. The present day calendar is built almost exactly like how the Aztecs and the Mayans built their calendar, including the Mayan Calendar.
They believed among other things that the Calendar is a prediction of future events based on past events. That sums up the assumption that the past predicts the future. One significant example of this is that predictions were made on the calendar that a comet would pass by and on that day the complete native civilization will be destroyed and the cross will seen. This prediction was written on the calendar for the year 1519, which was believed to be the year of serpent and this was all to occur. Surprisingly enough, the documentation that is left behind (most was destroyed) indicates that a comet was over the eastern sky. What’s even stranger is the arrival of Cortez and his Spanish army and their bearing to the cross. The reasoning for the year of the serpent was a prediction made for the end of all civilization and the Gods. As you would have thought, civilization did end up surrendering to the Spanish becoming slaves or tortured to death. The reason why the civilizations never fought back was supposedly because they believed that if their prediction on calendar was so correct thus far: therefore they believed that it was destined for them to die.
